Add AC Repair and Service to Your Spring To-Do List

April 28, 2016

Spring is finally here. We’re awfully sure your to-do list already feels overly long, but we have a handful of things that can save you some headaches and keep you comfy in the months to come. The weather is going to start heating up in Auburn and Opelika and the last thing you want is to find out is that you’re in need of AC repair. Going through this quick checklist now might save you from sweating this summer.

  1. Look at Your Air Filter and Ducts
Changing your air filter makes it to almost all of our lists of tips because it's so important and so often forgotten. If your air filter is dirty, your system will have to work harder to keep you comfy. This costs you more money and causes more stress on the system which reduces the life and efficiency of your system. Your ducts and registers are an additional piece of the puzzle that is often overlooked as well. While you're spring cleaning, pull off the covers from your registers and vacuum inside them. While you have the covers removed, soak them in mild dish soap, give them a scrub and switch them after they've dried.
  2. Clean Your Outdoor Unit
Keep any outdoor units clear of debris such as grass clippings, leaves or plant overgrowth. This debris can impact your system and cause it to reduce its efficiency.
  3. Arrange Your Annual AC Tune-Up
This is where we step in to help you work on that to-do list. An annual AC tune-up lengthens the life of your system and keeps it working at optimal efficiency. Spring is the perfect time to schedule your tune-up so any concerns or AC repair that needs to be made can be taken care of before the hot summer months. The cost of a tune-up is a little investment into the lifespan of your system. Think of it as giving your air conditioner an oil change.

We can't help you with all of your spring to-do list, but we can help you with all things involving your home comfort. We want to ensure you’re cool and comfortable all summer long. If you have any questions about spring cleaning, your system or need to arrange your annual AC tune-up, please give us a call at 334-524-2458.
